Dr. Mario Njeim

Dr. Mario Njeim is a Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiac Electrophysiologist at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, with over 15 years of clinical experience. He trained in cardiology at Henry Ford Hospital and Wayne State University in Detroit, and completed further specialist training at the University of Michigan Health System. He holds American Board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiac Electrophysiology.

Dr. Njeim specializes in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm problems, including atrial fibrillation, syncope (fainting), ventricular arrhythmias, and supraventricular tachycardia. He founded the cardiac catheter ablation laboratory at Hôtel-Dieu de France Hospital in Beirut before moving to Abu Dhabi in 2021. He has published multiple papers in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology and has received awards for excellence in patient care.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Njeim is a lecturer at Saint Joseph University in Beirut and holds leadership roles in cardiac electrophysiology organizations across the Middle East and Europe. He co-founded Youth Organization Heart Awareness Now (YOHAN), which focuses on raising awareness about sudden cardiac death in young people. He is well-suited for patients needing specialized evaluation and treatment of complex heart rhythm conditions.
