Dr. Farooq Khan

Dr Farooq Khan is a UK-trained consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist with extensive expertise in liver disease and advanced endoscopic procedures. He trained through the Trent GI programme and completed specialised liver transplant training at St James Hospital Leeds, followed by a fellowship in advanced endoscopy. He now practices at King's College Hospital London (Dubai), where he leads specialist clinics for complex liver conditions and liver transplant assessment.

Dr Khan performs a wide range of interventional endoscopic procedures including ERCP (bile duct treatment), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic mucosal resection, and endoscopic submucosal dissection for early cancers. He is skilled in placing feeding tubes using an advanced endosuturing technique and specialises in treating pancreatic, biliary, and gastrointestinal conditions that may be missed on standard imaging. He has developed a bespoke screening and management programme for patients with diabetes and fatty liver disease, helping detect and manage these conditions at an early stage before complications develop.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr Khan is a certified trainer in endoscopic ultrasound and is establishing training programmes for physicians across the Gulf region. He is an active researcher, lecturer at international conferences, and holds fellowship of the Royal Academy of Medical Educators.
