Dr. Cheikh Abou el Maali

Dr. Cheikh Abou El Maali is a Staff Physician in the Critical Care Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Medical Specialty Institute. He brings 21 years of clinical experience, with deep expertise in managing critically ill patients in intensive care settings. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he served as Medical ICU Director and Faculty at AdventHealth Tertiary and Transplant Center in Orlando, Florida, where he led the Medical ICU and taught critical care fellows.

Dr. El Maali specializes in managing life-threatening conditions including acute respiratory distress syndrome (severe lung failure) and shock (when the body's organs don't get enough blood flow). He has particular expertise in mechanical ventilation, invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring (measuring heart function and blood pressure), and post-transplant care for kidney transplant patients. His research and clinical work have focused on advanced telemedicine applications in critical care, including real-time ultrasound imaging for heart assessment in ICU patients.
