Dr. Omar Al Atragchi

Dr Omar Al Atragchi is a British-trained family medicine consultant who graduated from Al-Mustansiriyah Medical School in Baghdad, Iraq, and has been in continuous medical practice since 2006. He worked as a family medicine physician in the UK for seven years before relocating to the UAE in 2019, where he is now practising at Mediclinic. He holds membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), England, and is fully licensed by the Dubai Health Authority.

Dr Al Atragchi provides comprehensive primary care across all adult age groups, managing acute presentations, long-term medical conditions, and preventive health. He has a special interest in type 2 diabetes management in primary care and holds an accredited postgraduate qualification from Teesside University in managing people living with type 2 diabetes. He regularly treats cardiovascular disease (high blood pressure and high cholesterol), respiratory diseases (asthma and chronic respiratory conditions), and other long-term conditions. He also offers structured weight management consultations using lifestyle-based approaches and medical management with weight-loss injections where clinically appropriate.

Dr Al Atragchi takes an evidence-based, patient-centred approach to care and recognises the link between physical and psychological wellbeing. He supports patients with mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, stress-related conditions, and sleep issues, and is committed to ongoing professional development and keeping his practice aligned with the latest clinical guidance.
