Dr. Summia Zaher

Dr. Summia Zaher is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi. She graduated from the University of Dundee in 2001 with her medical degree (MBChB), winning the Margaret Fairlie prize in her specialty. She completed advanced specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology through Health Education and Improvement Wales from 2013 to 2018, followed by formal certification as a consultant.

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Zaher specializes in high-risk pregnancy care, complicated labour and delivery, and postnatal care. Her clinical interests focus on research into sepsis in pregnancy and labour induction techniques. She previously held senior roles at University Hospital of Wales, including research leadership and clinical oversight of obstetric services, and was an honorary senior lecturer at Cardiff University.

Dr. Zaher combines clinical expertise with medical education and leadership credentials, having completed postgraduate qualifications in medical education and clinical leadership. She is particularly suited for patients with complex pregnancies, those requiring specialized intrapartum (labour) management, and anyone seeking evidence-based care from a clinician with both research and teaching credentials.
