Dr. Talaat Elabd

Dr. Talaat Elabd is an anaesthesia and intensive care specialist with over 23 years of clinical experience. He holds a PhD in Anaesthesia and ICU (2017) and is qualified by the College of Anesthetists of Ireland, the European Board of Anesthesia, and the Arab Board of Anesthesia and ICU. Before joining Mediclinic Abu Dhabi, he practiced in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, building extensive expertise across multiple anaesthetic disciplines.

Dr. Elabd specializes in anaesthesia for vulnerable patient groups and complex procedures. He provides paediatric and neonatal anaesthesia, manages pain relief during labour (including epidural techniques), and handles anaesthesia for patients with cardiac conditions undergoing non-cardiac surgery. He is skilled in ultrasound-guided nerve blocks for targeted pain control and manages high-risk obstetric conditions including pre-eclampsia and eclampsia. He also covers anaesthesia for minimally invasive (keyhole) and bariatric weight-loss surgeries.
