About Dr. Hohmann
Dr. Erik Hohmann is a Consultant Orthopedic and Trauma Surgeon at Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery in Dubai with 22 years of clinical experience. He is German Board-Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, Trauma Surgery, and Sports Medicine, and holds Fellowship credentials from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow. Trained initially in South Africa, he completed specialized fellowship training in Orthopedic Sports Medicine under Prof. Andreas Imhoff in Munich, Germany, and holds a Ph.D. in Orthopedic Sports Medicine.
Dr. Hohmann has extensive expertise in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, ACL and PCL reconstruction (anterior and posterior cruciate ligament repairs), multi-ligament knee reconstruction, cartilage repair, and knee and shoulder replacement surgery. He has published over 200 scientific articles and multiple book chapters, and serves on editorial boards of leading orthopedic journals. His clinical practice includes treatment of sports-related injuries, orthopedic trauma, and complex joint conditions. He has worked as team physician for professional athletes and sporting teams throughout his career.
Fluent in English and German, Dr. Hohmann combines academic rigor with clinical expertise. He held a professorship in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Queensland in Australia and currently holds an academic position at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
