Dr. Vijayakumar Kunthe

Dr Vijayakumar Kunthe is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon who trained in the UK and has now relocated to Dubai. He obtained his DNB (Diploma in National Board of Examinations) in Orthopaedics from New Delhi, India, and later gained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He spent eight years training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery at Royal Bournemouth Hospital—a leading UK centre for joint replacements and keyhole surgery—and Poole General Hospital, during which time he completed a dedicated one-year fellowship in shoulder surgery.

Dr Kunthe specialises in keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery of the shoulder and knee, including treatment of sports injuries, and open joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee. He has particular expertise in reconstructing torn ligaments such as the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament), as well as managing fractures and bone injuries. Throughout his training and practice, he has performed a wide range of arthroscopic and open shoulder procedures, including joint replacements.
