About Dr. Islam Mohammed Youssef Matthana
Dr. Islam Mohammed Youssef Matthana is a Specialist in Vascular Surgery at Medcare Hospital Sharjah, with over 15 years of clinical experience. He trained at Cairo University's Faculty of Medicine, completed his MD from the Board of Vascular Surgery in Cairo, and holds an Egyptian Fellowship in Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Interventions. Before relocating to the UAE, he worked as a consultant at leading Egyptian hospitals and remains an accredited trainer for the Egyptian Fellowship Programme for Vascular Trainees.
Dr. Matthana's practice focuses on both open surgical and catheter-based (minimally invasive) treatments. He manages a broad range of vascular conditions including varicose veins, arterial narrowing and blockages, peripheral arterial disease, aneurysms, diabetic foot complications, deep vein thrombosis, and aortic and carotid diseases. He also creates arterio-venous access for kidney dialysis patients and places dialysis and chemotherapy catheters.
He is a member of the Egyptian Society of Vascular Surgery and brings strong training credentials to his clinical work. Dr. Matthana is fluent in Arabic and English.
