Dr. Josephine Jose

Dr. Josephine Jose is a Senior Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Mediclinic, bringing 34 years of experience from her tenure at Latifa Maternity and Paediatric Hospital, one of the UAE's leading tertiary maternity centres. She completed her medical training in Mumbai and London, and holds postgraduate qualifications from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG, FRCOG). She has also served as Associate Professor at Dubai Medical College for Girls and currently holds an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor position at Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medical Science.

Dr. Jose specialises in managing complex pregnancies and high-risk obstetric cases. She is skilled in performing complicated Caesarean sections, instrumental deliveries (forceps and vacuum), vaginal repair surgery for prolapse, and cervical cerclage (a technique to prevent mid-trimester miscarriage). She has particular expertise in preventing and managing preterm delivery, and in helping women achieve vaginal birth after Caesarean. She is also a certified Menopause Practitioner and runs a dedicated multidisciplinary menopause clinic.

Dr. Jose is an advocate for natural childbirth and was Vice Chairman of the Mother-Friendly Hospital Initiative at Latifa Hospital, where she helped achieve Mother-Friendly Hospital accreditation by promoting minimal intervention and reducing unnecessary Caesarean sections. She is active in community education, delivering talks and writing for newspapers on women's health topics, and trains maternity staff in obstetric emergencies and foetal monitoring.
