Dr. Mostafa Azab

Dr. Mostafa Azab is an orthopedic surgeon with 28 years of experience, currently practicing at NMC Healthcare in Abu Dhabi. He completed his orthopedic residency at Cairo University Hospitals (1999–2002), one of the Middle East's leading tertiary centers, then pursued specialized training in shoulder surgery and sports medicine. He completed a PhD in orthopedic surgery, traumatology, and shoulder arthroscopy from Cairo University in 2006, with a thesis on minimally invasive rotator cuff repair. He also completed a fellowship at Badgodsberg Shoulder Clinic in Bonn, Germany (2004), where he trained in advanced arthroscopic and open shoulder and elbow techniques.

Dr. Azab has performed over 3,000 surgeries across the Gulf region—more than 2,000 in Saudi Arabia and over 1,000 in the UAE—focused on upper limb trauma and shoulder sports injuries. His clinical expertise covers the full scope of shoulder and elbow conditions, from rotator cuff and labral disorders to fractures, instability, and nerve compression. He has published more than 26 papers in leading international orthopedic journals and presented regularly at major conferences including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), EFFORT, and SICOT.

Dr. Azab combines international training with deep experience in managing complex shoulder and upper limb injuries. He is a good fit for patients with sports-related shoulder or elbow problems, traumatic injuries to the upper limb, or those needing minimally invasive arthroscopic repair.
