Dr. Zulfiqar Hussain

Dr. Zulfiqar Hussain is a Staff Physician in the Neurology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Neurological Institute, with 23 years of clinical experience. He trained in neurology at Case Medical Center in Cleveland and completed fellowships in neuromuscular medicine and intraoperative monitoring at leading US institutions including Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he was a Staff Neurologist in Ohio, where he helped build collaborative neuroscience programs across Northeast Ohio.

Dr. Hussain treats a wide range of nerve and muscle disorders, including myasthenia gravis, peripheral neuropathies (nerve damage), carpal tunnel syndrome, demyelinating diseases, and acute strokes. He specializes in electrodiagnostic testing—electrical studies that diagnose nerve and muscle problems—and intraoperative neurophysiology (monitoring nerve function during surgery). He has published research in leading medical journals and regularly presents his work at neuroscience conferences.

He is an experienced educator who has mentored neurology trainees at Cleveland Clinic and is certified in multiple neurology subspecialties. Dr. Hussain is also involved in charitable work, including a program that provided kidney dialysis equipment to underserved communities in Pakistan.
