Dr. Ramya Appanraj

Dr. Ramya Appanraj is a specialist ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon with 12 years of experience. She completed her MBBS at Madurai Medical College and pursued an MD in Ophthalmology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, followed by a fellowship in the Vitreoretinal Department at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. She currently serves as a Vitreoretinal Consultant at Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore, a position she has held for over four years.

Dr. Ramya specializes in treating complex retinal conditions and performing advanced vitreoretinal surgery. Her clinical expertise includes retinal detachment repair, management of macular holes, intraocular inflammation, choroidal disorders, and age-related macular degeneration. She is skilled in modern imaging techniques and minimally invasive surgical approaches, including 27-gauge tranconjunctival vitrectomy.
