Dr. Jiji Tresa Cyriac

Dr. Jiji Tresa Cyriac is a Specialist Ophthalmologist at Medcare Medical Centre in Sharjah with 24 years of clinical experience. She holds an MBBS from Kerala University, India, and postgraduate qualifications including a Diploma in Ophthalmology from SRMC & Research Centre and a Diploma in Health Professions Education from Gulf Medical University, UAE. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (FRCS) in Glasgow, UK, and a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO), reflecting her expertise at an international standard.

Throughout her career, Dr. Cyriac has combined clinical practice with a passion for teaching and has worked across several respected institutions in India and the UAE. She gained experience in Kerala at T.D. Medical College, Mahajubilee Hospital, KPM Eye Hospital and Lasik Centre, and Sacred Heart Hospital, before moving to the UAE where she worked at GMC Hospital & Research Centre and spent nearly a decade at NMC Healthcare. Her clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of eye and eyelid care, from refractive errors to complex anterior segment conditions and diabetic eye disease screening.

She is skilled in diagnostic techniques including slit-lamp microscopy, tonometry for glaucoma detection, direct and indirect eye examination, and gonioscopy. Her special interests focus on anterior segment conditions (problems affecting the front of the eye) and diabetic eye diseases. She regularly publishes articles in medical journals and participates in community health programmes.
