Dr. George Alexander

Dr George Alexander is a consultant gastroenterologist practising in Dubai since 2014, with more than 15 years of clinical experience. He trained at leading institutions including the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute in Lucknow, India, where he completed his specialist qualification in gastroenterology, and Paul Brousse Hospital in Paris, where he undertook fellowship training in liver transplantation and hepatology. He previously led the gastroenterology department at a major hospital in Bangalore, India before relocating to the UAE.

Dr George manages the full range of gastrointestinal conditions, with particular expertise in patients who have undergone liver transplantation. He is skilled in advanced endoscopic procedures including endoscopic ultrasound with biopsy, ERCP (for gallstone and bile duct management), and diagnostic techniques such as oesophageal manometry and pH monitoring. He also performs routine gastroscopies, colonoscopies, and polyp removal, and can handle acute gastrointestinal emergencies including bleeding.

He emphasises preventative care and lifestyle modification, and is known for his commitment to keeping current with international developments in gastroenterology. He holds professional memberships across national and international organisations and is among a small number of doctors in the UAE qualified in endoscopic ultrasound.
