Dr. Niamh Kilcullen

Dr Niamh Kilcullen is a consultant cardiologist with more than 10 years of clinical experience. She trained at University College Dublin, where she obtained her medical degree in 1998, followed by general medical training in Ireland and the UK. She was awarded a British Heart Foundation Junior Fellowship in 2003 and completed a Doctor of Medicine research degree at the University of Leeds in 2005. She then trained in cardiology in West Yorkshire before undertaking a prestigious 3-year fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston from 2009 to 2012. She holds a Certificate of Completion of Training in Cardiology and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London.

Dr Kilcullen specialises in evaluating and managing a broad range of cardiac conditions, from common symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, and palpitations to complex conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, and valve disease. She has particular expertise in cardiac imaging techniques including echocardiography, stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, cardiac CT, and cardiac MRI. She also manages hypertension and elevated cholesterol. Prior to joining Mediclinic Dubai, she worked as a consultant cardiologist at Mid Yorkshire Trust in the UK from 2012 to 2023.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr Kilcullen is an active researcher and educator. She has published in international peer-reviewed journals, presented at international conferences, and authored two book chapters. She holds additional qualifications in medical law and medical education, reflecting her commitment to professional development and teaching.
