Dr. Pedro Quaresma

Dr. Pedro Quaresma is a European Board-Certified Consultant in Nuclear Medicine with more than 19 years of clinical experience. He trained as a resident and specialist at the Portuguese Institute for Oncology in Lisbon, and later held a senior specialist position at Hospital CUF Descobertas. He served as Head of the Nuclear Medicine Department at the Portuguese Armed Forces Hospital before joining Al Zahra Hospital in Dubai.

Dr. Quaresma specializes in PET-CT imaging for cancer diagnosis and staging, using advanced techniques like 18F-FDG imaging. He also performs conventional nuclear medicine scans, SPECT-CT, and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures. Beyond oncology, he has expertise in nuclear medicine imaging for bone problems, neurological conditions, and heart disease.

He brings academic experience as a former invited teacher of cardiology and pathophysiology at Nova Medical School in Lisbon, and is an active speaker at nuclear medicine conferences across Europe and the Middle East. He is well-suited for patients requiring advanced imaging to diagnose or monitor cancer, bone disorders, or cardiac conditions.
