Dr. Merin Paul Pittappillil

Dr Merin Paul Pittappillil is a consultant dermatologist with 16 years of clinical experience in skin disease diagnosis and treatment. She completed her MBBS from Amala Institute of Medical Sciences in India in 2010, followed by an MD in Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprosy from Government Medical College, Kottayam in 2013, and a DNB qualification in the same specialty in 2014. She holds a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Cosmetic Dermatology from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (2015). Dr Merin also received a scholarship at Ohio State University, USA, to conduct research on gene silencing in cancer and potential therapeutic applications.

Dr Merin treats a broad spectrum of skin conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, and fungal infections, as well as cosmetic concerns such as ageing skin, scars, and unwanted hair. She is experienced in laser treatments, injectable therapies, aesthetic procedures, and hair transplantation. She has undergone extensive advanced training in cutaneous sciences, laser therapy, connective tissue diseases, and aesthetic dermatology techniques.

She began her career at Government Medical College, Kottayam in 2013, then worked as an Assistant Surgeon and Medical Officer with the Department of Health Services in Kerala. In 2015, she joined Kaya Skin Clinic in Bangalore as Consultant Dermatologist, and in 2018 moved to BCF IndoAmerican Hospital in Cochin before joining NMC Healthcare in Abu Dhabi. Dr Merin is frequently invited as a speaker and demonstrator at continuing medical education sessions and has authored and presented award papers.
