Dr. Athira Aswin

Dr. Athira Aswin is a specialist pulmonologist with over 8 years of clinical experience, widely regarded as a trusted lung specialist in Dubai. She completed her MBBS from Jubilee Mission Medical College, Kerala, India in 2004 as a gold medal recipient, followed by postgraduate training (MD) in Pulmonary Medicine from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, one of South Asia's premier hospitals, in 2011. Before relocating to the UAE, she worked for 3 years as a Consultant Pulmonologist at MaCare Specialty Diagnostic Centre in Kerala, managing a full range of respiratory diseases.

Dr. Athira specializes in treating both routine and complex lung conditions including asthma, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), tuberculosis, interstitial lung disease, chest infections, and sleep apnea. She is trained in interventional procedures such as flexible bronchoscopy, thoracoscopy (keyhole examination of the lung cavity), central line insertions, and chest tube drainage. Her experience also extends to ICU-level care including mechanical ventilation for critically ill patients.
