Dr. Waleed A. Hassen

Dr. Waleed A. Hassen is Division Chair of the Urology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. With 31 years of experience, he trained at leading U.S. institutions including Johns Hopkins and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He previously held faculty positions at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and served as Director of Urologic Oncology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.

Dr. Hassen specializes in urologic cancer (prostate, kidney, testicular, penile, and adrenal cancer) and minimally invasive robotic surgery. He is one of a small number of urologists worldwide formally trained in both urologic oncology and robotic surgery. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, authored book chapters, and contributed educational videos. He serves as an editorial reviewer for scientific journals and chairs the National Comprehensive Cancer Network's Middle East and North Africa Panel for Prostate Cancer Guidelines.

Dr. Hassen is an active international educator, lecturing at major scientific meetings and serving as faculty for the American Urological Association. He is a member of the Society of Urologic Oncologists, the European Association of Urology, and Alpha Omega Alpha. He is fluent in English, Arabic, Spanish, and French, making him well-suited for patients seeking expert cancer and robotic urologic care.
