Prof. Dr. Gerald Zimmermann is a Consultant in the Department of Orthopaedics at Medcare Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital, with a subspecialty in sports medicine. He trained in medicine at the Universities of Erlangen, Mannheim, and the Texas Medical Centre in Houston, and holds a PhD from the University of Heidelberg. With 27 years of experience, he spent most of his career in Germany, initially at the BG Trauma Center Ludwigshafen before joining Theresienkrankenhaus in Mannheim, where he became head of the Orthopaedic and Traumatology Department.

Prof. Zimmermann is internationally recognised for his work in regenerative orthopaedic medicine, particularly the clinical application of growth factors and stem cells for bone and cartilage repair.
