Prof. Osama Shawki

Prof. Osama Shawki is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Professor of Gynaecologic Surgery based in Cairo, Egypt. He graduated from Cairo University with highest honours and has built an international reputation for advanced endoscopic gynaecologic surgery. He is recognised as a pioneer in minimally invasive gynaecology, particularly in hysteroscopy (keyhole examination of the uterus) and laparoscopy (keyhole examination of the pelvis).

Prof. Shawki specialises in a wide range of obstetric and gynaecologic conditions and procedures. He manages high-risk pregnancies, complicated labour, and performs advanced keyhole surgeries including fibroid removal, treatment of ectopic pregnancy, hysterectomy (womb removal), and repair of pelvic organ prolapse. He also performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as cervical treatments, dilation and curettage, and endometrial ablation. His expertise extends to gynaecologic ultrasound and oncology procedures.

As a visiting surgeon and educator, he has conducted hundreds of live surgical workshops across more than 69 countries, training gynaecologists in advanced techniques globally. His innovative surgical methods and instruments have significantly advanced endoscopic gynaecologic procedures worldwide.
