Dr. Numan C. Balci

Dr. Numan Cem Balci is a Staff Physician in the Diagnostic Radiology & Imaging Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Diagnostics Institute. With 33 years of experience, he brings a distinguished international career spanning Turkey, Germany, and the United States. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Balci was Chairman of Radiology at Bilim University and Director of Oncologic Imaging at Florence Nightingale Hospitals in Istanbul, where he led the region's first PET-MRI scanner.

Dr. Balci's clinical expertise centers on body imaging—particularly liver and abdominal imaging—and transplant radiology. He has reviewed imaging for over 2,000 living donor liver transplants and prepared both recipients and donors for surgery. His research and publications span advanced imaging techniques, with approximately 90 peer-reviewed papers to his name. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, reflecting his standing in the imaging community.
