Dr. Ayman El-Hattab

Dr. Ayman El-Hattab is a Consultant Geneticist at Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai with over 15 years of experience in clinical genetics. He holds board certification in Pediatrics, Clinical Genetics, and Biochemical Genetics (Metabolic) from the American Board, and is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Medical Genetics. He has trained at leading institutions including Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Missouri in the USA, and King Fahad Medical City in Saudi Arabia.

Dr. El-Hattab evaluates children and adults with a wide range of genetic conditions: developmental delay, autism, growth failure, metabolic disorders, chromosomal syndromes, muscle diseases, heart rhythm problems, kidney malformations, skin conditions like ichthyosis, eye diseases, and inherited hearing loss. He also assesses families with a history of inherited cancers and performs genetic screening for couples planning pregnancies. His research spans chromosomal abnormalities, metabolic diseases, neurogenetic conditions, and mitochondrial disorders, with over 120 publications and book chapters.

As a Professor at the College of Medicine, University of Sharjah, he combines clinical care with active teaching and research. He was recognised among the world's top 2% of scientists in genetics by Stanford University in 2020. Dr. El-Hattab is fluent in English and Arabic.
