Dr. May Abu Galala

Ms. May Abu Galala is a Certified Diabetes Educator with 12 years of experience supporting patients with diabetes across the UAE. She holds a Master's Degree in Public Health from United Arab Emirates University (2019), a Bachelor of Nursing from Fatima College of Health and Science in affiliation with Griffith University, Australia (2013), and a Diploma in Nursing (2005). Throughout her career, she has worked closely with endocrinologists and diabetologists at SEHA hospitals, SKMC, and Al Rahba Hospital, helping patients manage pre-diabetes, Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes.

Ms. May is an expert in the latest diabetes technologies, including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems. She provides comprehensive education and support for both adults and children, with particular expertise in diabetes management during pregnancy and healthy lifestyle coaching. She has led discharge planning initiatives and implemented diabetes care policies for pre- and post-operative, inpatient, and outpatient settings. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was instrumental in UAE emergency healthcare support services and participated in SEHA's innovation program for children with Type 1 diabetes at United Arab Emirates University.
