Dr. Ahmad Matalkah

Dr. Ahmad Matalkah is a Staff Physician in the Breast Surgery Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Integrated Surgical Institute. He trained as a Surgical Oncology Fellow at King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan, and completed his general surgery residency at King Abdullah University Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. With 18 years of clinical experience, he combines expertise in breast cancer care with knowledge of endocrine and abdominal surgery.

Dr. Matalkah diagnoses and treats breast cancer using modern surgical techniques including sentinel lymph node biopsy and axillary node dissection. He also performs nipple-sparing and prophylactic mastectomies, and manages thyroid and parathyroid cancers, pancreatic cancer, and soft tissue tumours. His work spans preventive breast surgery and complex oncologic cases requiring multidisciplinary care.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Matalkah is dedicated to teaching and was recognized with the Teacher of the Year award at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in 2018 for his contributions to resident and intern education. He is an assistant professor of surgery at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and serves on the General Surgery core competency committee. He is well-suited for patients seeking evidence-based cancer surgery with a focus on preserving function and quality of life.
