Dr. Hanan Sheikh Ibrahim

Dr. Hanan Ibrahim is a Staff Physician in the Neurology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Neurological Institute. She trained in internal medicine and geriatric medicine at top US institutions, including the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, where she studied under Dr. Robert Palmer, who pioneered the acute care for the elderly model now used internationally. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, she worked as a Consultant Geriatrician and Clinical Professor at Rochester Regional Health in New York, where she led geriatric consultations in a busy brain health practice.

Dr. Ibrahim has over 27 years of experience specializing in the aging brain and memory disorders. She has completed more than 2,000 neurocognitive assessments and was instrumental in introducing the first mobile acute care for the elderly (MACE) program in the UAE—a regional first. She also pioneered the implementation of electronic medical record (EMR) based cognitive screening tools in the UAE to detect and treat memory problems earlier. Her expertise spans delirium, dementia, late-life mood disorders, memory loss, and medication management in older adults.

As an academic leader, Dr. Ibrahim helped establish the first Geriatric Fellowship Program in New York and developed curriculum for training doctors in neurocognitive disorders and delirium. She is well suited for patients seeking specialized evaluation and management of memory problems, cognitive decline, or complex brain-related issues in older age.
