Dr. Zuhair Shihab

Dr. Zuhair Shihab is a Consultant in Pediatric Neonatology at Burjeel Royal Hospital, Al Ain, bringing three decades of clinical experience across Germany and the UAE. He completed his medical degree at Marburg University, Germany, in 1991, and went on to earn his Fellowship in Pediatrics from Mannheim/Heidelberg University in 2003, followed by his German Board certification in both Pediatrics and Neonatology that same year.

Throughout his career, Dr. Shihab has held senior leadership positions in pediatric intensive care and neonatology. He served as Chief and Consultant of the Pediatric PICU (intensive care unit for children) at Tawam Hospital from 2009 to 2014, where he directed care for critically ill children. He then led the entire Pediatric department at Nation Hospital in Abu Dhabi from 2017 to 2018 before joining Burjeel Royal Hospital as Head of Neonatology, where he now oversees newborn intensive care while maintaining his consultant role in general pediatrics.
