Dr. Nashwa Awad

Dr. Nashwa Awad is a double board-certified neonatologist with over 15 years of experience caring for critically ill and premature newborns. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine from Mansoura University, Egypt in 2000, followed by a Master's degree in Pediatrics in 2006. She completed her Egyptian Board fellowship in neonatology (2009–2012) and gained Level III NICU training before earning her Arab Board certification in 2016. Dr. Nashwa has worked in high-level neonatal units across Egypt, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, bringing expertise from diverse healthcare settings.

Her clinical focus includes managing newborns requiring advanced respiratory support, ranging from non-invasive methods to mechanical ventilation and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV). She is experienced in therapeutic hypothermia for newborn brain protection, total parenteral nutrition management, and neonatal resuscitation. She holds an International Board Certification in Lactation Consulting, reflecting her commitment to supporting feeding and maternal care in the NICU setting.

Since 2017, Dr. Nashwa has worked at Mafraq Hospital and currently serves at SSMC-NICU. She was an Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer at Khalifa University's College of Medicine and Health Sciences (2022–2024), demonstrating her involvement in teaching and clinical leadership. She is a member of the Infection Control Committee, underscoring her focus on safety and quality in neonatal care.
