Dr. Harikumar Nair

Dr Harikumar Nair is a consultant neonatologist with over 15 years of experience, including 9+ years as a consultant. He qualified from Alleppey Medical College in 1992 and completed specialist training in paediatrics and neonatal medicine in the UK through the London Deanery, rotating through King's College Hospital, St George's Hospital and St Thomas Hospital. He obtained his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2011 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH UK).

Dr Nair's clinical expertise centres on newborn respiratory support and lung health in ventilated infants. From 2003 to 2006, he conducted research on breathing mechanics and respiratory muscle function in children at King's College London's Department of Asthma, Allergy and Lung Biology, publishing multiple peer-reviewed articles and presenting at international conferences including the European Respiratory Society and American Thoracic Society congresses. His special interests include mechanical ventilation in newborns, neonatal respiratory illnesses, and infant nutrition.

He advocates a family-centred, multi-disciplinary approach to neonatal care and has taught trainee paediatricians and medical students for many years in the UK.
