Dr. Mohanad Atta

Dr. Mohanad Atta is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Specialist in Pain Management at Medcare Hospital in Dubai, where he also heads the Anaesthesia Department. He trained at Al-Mustansiriya Medical College in Iraq and holds specialist qualifications in anaesthesia from the Iraqi Board of Specialisation. He has completed advanced training in interventional pain techniques from Université de Montpellier in France and holds multiple certifications in interventional pain management from European and specialist bodies.

Dr. Atta's career spans 18 years across both government and private healthcare. He began as a Specialist Anaesthesiologist at the City of Medicine Teaching Center in Baghdad, building expertise in complex surgical and critical care. He then worked at Rashid Trauma Center in Dubai and spent his longest tenure at Zuleikha Hospital, before moving to Gargash Hospital where he led clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives. He now manages perioperative care and pain conditions including chronic low back pain, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, migraines and tension headaches, shoulder pain, knee osteoarthritis, and neuropathic pain. He specialises in regional anaesthesia techniques such as nerve blocks, spinal and epidural injections for targeted pain relief.

Dr. Atta has a particular expertise in anaesthesia for patients with severe obesity and stays current through active involvement in conferences, workshops and research. He is fluent in Arabic and English and works under Dubai's regulatory framework.
