Dr. Baher Alhomsi

Dr. Baher Alhomsi is a Consultant and Chair of the Internal Medical Division at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, where he has practised for 17 years. Over three decades of medical practice, he has built expertise in managing complex internal medicine cases and chronic conditions. He trained in internal medicine at the University of Damascus, Syria, and holds board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Alhomsi specializes in the diagnosis and long-term management of high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart and kidney disease, lung problems, and gastrointestinal conditions. He manages both straightforward and complicated medical cases, often in patients with multiple conditions requiring coordinated care. His practice emphasizes evidence-based medicine and tailored treatment plans.

Beyond direct patient care, Dr. Alhomsi leads residency training at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City and serves as Clinical Professor at Gulf Medical University. For the past 10 years, he has directed the Resident Wellness Curriculum for the Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Program. He is an active contributor to medical education and has lectured widely to doctors and trainees across the region.
