Dr. Sara El Ouali

Dr. Sara El Ouali is a Staff Physician in the Gastroenterology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Digestive Disease Institute, and also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. She trained at McGill University in Montreal, where she earned her medical degree and completed her Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology & Hepatology fellowship as Chief Resident. She then undertook specialized advanced training in inflammatory bowel disease at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, where she gained extensive experience managing complex IBD cases.

Dr. El Ouali is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by both American and Canadian boards. She has a particular clinical focus on inflammatory bowel disease, especially Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and maintains a strong interest in how COVID-19 affects patients with IBD and other digestive conditions. She performs endoscopic procedures as part of her diagnostic and therapeutic work.

Dr. El Ouali is actively involved in IBD research and academic activities with Cleveland Clinic and international collaborators.
