Dr. Haitham Salah Eldin

Dr. Haitham Salah Eldin is a Consultant Pulmonologist and Associate Professor of Pulmonology at Ain Shams University in Egypt, bringing 20 years of clinical and academic experience in respiratory medicine. He trained at Ain Shams University, completing his residency, specialist qualifications, and doctorate in chest diseases and tuberculosis. He combines strong diagnostic expertise with evidence-based management and patient-centred care across all age groups, from children to seniors.

His clinical practice spans a broad range of respiratory conditions. He diagnoses and manages asthma (including severe and treatment-resistant cases with biologic therapies), COPD with acute exacerbation management, chronic persistent cough, shortness of breath, respiratory infections including COVID-19, interstitial lung diseases, and sleep-related breathing disorders such as sleep apnea. He also performs lung cancer screening and early diagnosis, assesses fitness for surgery, and manages respiratory failure in critically ill patients. Additionally, he performs and interprets pulmonary function tests including spirometry, body plethysmography, and FeNO testing, and formulates smoking cessation programmes.
