Dr. Sumit Jha

Dr. Sumit Jha is a Consultant Anesthesiologist with over 21 years of specialist experience in anesthesia and intensive care. He trained in India, earning his MBBS with honors from the University of Mumbai in 2001, followed by a three-year residency in anesthesiology at LTMG Hospital. He then completed advanced training through the UK Anaesthetics and Intensive Care program (2008–2013), working across multiple NHS hospitals in Northern Ireland and Wales. He holds the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Anesthetics and has been a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists since 2009.

Dr. Jha's clinical practice covers the full breadth of perioperative medicine: pre-operative assessment, intra-operative management of complex and high-risk patients, and postoperative care. He has particular expertise in pediatric anesthesia, regional anesthesia techniques, and anesthesia for major colorectal and general surgery. His experience includes managing emergency cases, neonatal resuscitation, and anesthesia for special-needs children undergoing dental procedures. He also works in intensive care settings and provides both elective and emergency on-call cover.

Before joining HealthPoint, Dr. Jha served as Clinical Director at Causeway Hospital in the UK and held roles as a specialist advisor to the Care Quality Commission (2019–2021) and examiner for the General Medical Council's overseas qualification assessments (2017–2024).
