Dr. Rana Zakarya

Ms Rana is a diabetic educator with over 14 years of experience helping patients manage diabetes effectively. She began her career in 2007 at Al Noor Hospital in Al Ain as a patient and family health educator, then transitioned to specialized diabetic education roles in the private sector before joining Mediclinic Al Jowhara in 2021.

She focuses on teaching patients the fundamentals of diabetes management, including how to use blood glucose meters, insulin pens, insulin pumps, and continuous glucose monitors. Her approach combines practical device training with nutrition education, meal planning, and weight-loss strategies tailored to each patient's needs. She also helps patients understand how their medications work, including potential side effects and efficacy, and develops personalized strategies for blood glucose monitoring and interpretation.

Ms Rana takes a holistic approach, supporting patients in building problem-solving skills, managing stress, and developing confidence in self-managing their condition. She is well-suited for anyone newly diagnosed with diabetes or those looking to improve their daily management routines.
