Dr. Ali Reza

Dr. Ali Reza is a consultant general surgeon with more than 25 years' experience at leading hospitals across the UAE. He is known for his expertise in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and has been instrumental in introducing advanced minimally invasive techniques to the region. Dr. Reza trained in Romania and holds fellowship credentials from the Royal College of Surgeons and the European Board of General Surgery, with additional training in bariatric surgery.

His clinical work focuses on hernia repair, bowel surgery, abdominal trauma, and pelvic organ procedures—nearly all performed using keyhole techniques to reduce recovery time and complications. He performed the first laparoscopic gynaecological surgeries at Iranian Hospital, introduced laparoscopy for abdominal trauma and cancer cases, and established Canadian Hospital's comprehensive laparoscopic surgery department in 2010, where he performed complex procedures including colon resections and hiatal hernia repairs. At Rashid Hospital, he introduced 11 new laparoscopic procedures. More recently, he spearheaded the hernia clinic at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Reza is committed to training the next generation of surgeons. He mentors resident doctors in advanced laparoscopic techniques and regularly hosts educational conferences and workshops to share best practice in minimally invasive surgery.
