Dr. Houssame is a consultant cardiologist with over 30 years of clinical experience, primarily at Tishreen University Hospital where he has worked since 1992. He trained in cardiac medicine at the University Hospital Trousseau–François Rabelais University in France (1981–1986) and brings deep expertise in managing heart conditions across both inpatient and outpatient settings, including complex critical cases.
He specializes in the full spectrum of cardiac pathology and has been instrumental in building cardiac services, having established the hospital's catheterization laboratory in 2008. From 2016 to 2022, he led the Department of Cardiology, bringing his extensive knowledge of diagnostic imaging (particularly echocardiography) and evidence-based cardiac care to his clinical work.
