Dr. Oommen Mathew

Dr. Oommen Mathew is an orthopedic and trauma surgeon with 20 years of experience across India, the UK, and the UAE. He trained at leading institutions including Manipal Academy of Higher Education for his Masters in Orthopaedics, followed by specialist knee surgery training at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee—one of Europe's largest surgical teaching hospitals. He earned his MCh Orthopaedic degree from Dundee University and holds membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Dr. Mathew has particular expertise in hip and knee replacements, knee arthroscopy, and sports medicine, gained through a fellowship at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, a renowned center performing 10–15 joint replacements daily. He has also managed spine conditions, joint disorders, trauma, and fractures, and brings significant experience in pediatric orthopaedics including congenital and developmental childhood problems. His background includes roles as Assistant Professor and later Associate Professor and Chief of the Joint Diseases Unit at Pushpagiri Medical College, Kerala.

He is an invited speaker at national and international orthopedic conferences, has taught medical students and postgraduates, and has published research in indexed medical journals. He now practices at Mediclinic Dubai.
