Dr. Fady Gerges

Dr Fady Gerges is a consultant cardiologist with 17 years of experience across government and private hospitals in Egypt and the UAE. He joined Mediclinic Al Ain after a successful career at another private facility in the emirate. He holds advanced qualifications including a master's degree in cardiology and critical care, along with European board certifications in echocardiography (levels 1 and 2) and UK board accreditation in cardiac CT imaging.

Dr Gerges specializes in cardiovascular imaging and clinical cardiology. He performs a wide range of echocardiography procedures—including 2D and 3D transthoracic and transoesophageal echo, stress echo (both drug-induced and exercise-based to detect coronary narrowing), and contrast-enhanced echo for detecting heart-wall defects. He also carries out electrical cardioversion for irregular heartbeats, ultrasound-guided procedures including fluid drainage from around the heart, and point-of-care ultrasound including lung imaging.

Dr Gerges is an active contributor to international cardiology, having published in prestigious journals including the European Heart Journal and presented at major conferences like the annual Euro-Echo congress. He serves as President of the International Young Academy of Cardiology since 2019 and holds memberships across leading European cardiac societies, including fellowships in the European Society of Cardiology and the Heart Failure Association.
