Dr. Shivam Om Mittal

Dr. Shivam Om Mittal is a Staff Physician in the Neurology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Neurological Institute. He trained in neurology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and completed advanced fellowships in botulinum toxin treatment at Yale University and Parkinson's disease and movement disorders at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he worked as a Consultant Neurologist and Movement Disorders Specialist at leading tertiary hospitals in Bangalore, India, where he developed a dedicated Movement Disorders Department.

Dr. Mittal has performed botulinum toxin injections for over 1,000 patients, treating both common movement problems such as writer's cramp, neck dystonia, facial spasms and muscle stiffness, as well as less common conditions including essential tremor, Parkinson's tremor, excessive drooling and excessive sweating. He has extensive experience with deep brain stimulation and has led clinical research initiatives exploring new treatment approaches for movement disorders. His work has resulted in more than 25 peer-reviewed publications and 35 conference presentations.

Dr. Mittal is committed to patient-centred care and believes in taking time to understand each patient's needs and concerns. He is an active member of major neurology organizations including the American Academy of Neurology and the International Movement Disorder Society. He is based in Abu Dhabi with his family and enjoys cycling and music.
