Dr. Hadi Skouri

Dr. Hadi Skouri is a Consultant Cardiologist in the Cardiology Division at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, with more than 14 years of experience in heart diseases and their advanced treatment. He trained at the American University of Beirut (where he earned both his MD and BS in medicine), completed his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowship there, then pursued advanced heart failure training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA. He is also certified as an Advanced Heart Failure Specialist by Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Skouri specialises in advanced heart failure (including mechanical support devices and heart transplantation), cardio-oncology, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac amyloidosis, and the prevention and management of heart damage caused by cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation. He has published more than 55 research papers, consensus documents, and position papers in cardiology and heart failure. His most notable clinical achievements include performing the first left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation in the Middle East and being the first doctor in the region to gain a fellowship from the Heart Failure Association.

Dr. Skouri has been an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Lebanon for the last 5 years and has spent more than a decade organising heart failure awareness campaigns across the MENA region. He led the Arabic translation of heartfailurematters.org, the largest heart failure awareness and educational website, and chairs the Lebanese Society of Cardiology's Heart Failure Working Group.
