Dr. Ayman Shouman

Dr. Ayman Shouman is a Professor of Ophthalmology with over 34 years of clinical, surgical, and academic experience. He trained at Cairo University and the Research Institute of Ophthalmology in Cairo, where he completed his residency and earned both a Master's degree and PhD in Ophthalmology. He completed specialist fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at Frankfurt University in Germany and holds fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS) and serves as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has worked across Egypt, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE, and continues as a Visiting Professor at his training institution in Cairo.

Dr. Shouman's clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of eye surgery and disease management. He performs advanced vitreoretinal procedures, cataract surgery with premium lens implants, complex glaucoma treatments using minimally invasive techniques (ITRACK, iStent, PRESERFLO), LASIK and other refractive surgeries, and intraocular injections. He has particular experience managing retinal conditions in premature infants (retinopathy of prematurity), pediatric eye problems, and inflammatory eye disease (uveitis).
