Dr. Roberto Puxeddu

Prof. Roberto Puxeddu is a Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat specialist) and Head and Neck Surgeon with board certification in both Italy and the UK. He currently holds the position of Full Professor of Otorhinolaryngology at the University of Cagliari in Italy and serves as an adjunct Clinical Professor at Gulf Medical University in the UAE. Previously, he worked as a Consultant at Portsmouth Hospital Trust in the UK, where he developed a special interest in laser-based head and neck cancer surgery.

Prof. Puxeddu trained extensively across Europe and the USA, completing his medical degree with top honours from the University of Cagliari and his ENT residency at the State University of Brescia. He has completed multiple specialized fellowships in ear surgery, voice surgery, and endoscopic sinus surgery. His clinical expertise spans head and neck cancer surgery using both minimally invasive endoscopic and open approaches, including complex reconstructive techniques. He was the first Italian surgeon to perform bilateral selective laryngeal reinnervation for vocal cord paralysis, and he manages the full range of ENT emergencies.

Prof. Puxeddu is well-suited for patients requiring specialized head and neck cancer treatment, complex ear or sinus surgery, voice disorders, or paediatric ENT care. He has published over 107 papers in peer-reviewed journals and holds fellowships with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal Society of Medicine, along with memberships in major international ENT societies.
