Dr. MAHER A. ABBAS

Dr. Maher A. Abbas is an internationally recognized colorectal surgeon with 28 years of clinical experience. He trained at top institutions including Emory University, Stanford School of Medicine, and Mayo Clinic, and held the rank of full professor of surgery in the USA. He established a tertiary colorectal surgery center at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles before being recruited by Cleveland Clinic in 2013 as founding chair of the Digestive Disease Institute in Abu Dhabi. In 2017, he relocated to Dubai to launch colorectal surgery services for patients across the UAE, Gulf region, and internationally.

Dr. Abbas has performed over 18,000 operations and procedures throughout his career. He treats the full spectrum of colorectal conditions including bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's and ulcerative colitis), hemorrhoids, anal disorders, constipation, and pelvic floor problems.
