Dr. Dina Abou Elela Abass Elsayed Elshamaa

Dr. Dina is a specialist psychiatrist and Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Mediclinic Al Ain Hospital. She trained extensively in the UK, where she obtained membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and completed both basic and specialized training in adult psychiatry and forensic psychiatry across the north of England. Before moving to the UAE in 2016, she worked as an associate specialist and acting consultant psychiatrist in the UK National Health Service.

Dr. Dina's clinical focus centres on mood disorders—including depression, bipolar affective disorder, and mood swings—as well as women's mental health conditions such as post-natal depression. She is an approved transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) specialist, certified by Duke University, USA, and applies evidence-based guidelines in her patient care. She has experience as an educational supervisor for psychiatry trainees and has examined medical students at Durham and Newcastle universities.
