Dr. Yossra Atef Sherif Suliman

Dr. Yossra Atef Sherif Suliman is an Assistant Professor of Rheumatology and Rehabilitation at Assiut University Hospital, Egypt, and a Rheumatologist at Ain Al Khaleej Hospital, Abu Dhabi, UAE. With over 15 years of clinical and academic experience, she has trained and practised across Egypt, Switzerland, the USA, and the UAE. She completed a research fellowship at the Centre of Experimental Rheumatology at Zurich University Hospital and later advanced her expertise through clinical research and training at UCLA, where she specialised in musculoskeletal ultrasound and systemic sclerosis (a connective tissue disease affecting the skin and internal organs).

Dr. Yossra manages a wide range of joint and rheumatologic conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus (SLE), systemic sclerosis, vasculitis, psoriatic arthritis, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, gout, and Behçet's disease. She is EULAR-certified in musculoskeletal ultrasound, a technique that uses sound waves to visualise joints and soft tissues. Her work combines clinical care with research, and she has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to medical textbooks.

Dr. Yossra is an active member of EUSTAR (the European Scleroderma Trials and Research group) and served on the EULAR Taskforce for Systemic Sclerosis Treatment Recommendations in 2023. She is also a reviewer for leading journals and has mentored junior doctors and researchers. Her approach emphasises holistic, evidence-based, and collaborative care for patients with complex rheumatologic diseases, and she is recognised as an educator and public health advocate.
