Dr. Nabil Al Khoury

Dr. Nabil Al Khoury heads the department of critical care medicine at Reem Hospital in Abu Dhabi, bringing over 20 years of experience in intensive care. He trained in Germany at Gottingen University's Central Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care, where he obtained his German board certification. Before joining Reem Hospital, he held senior leadership positions across Germany, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, including Division Chief of Anesthesia and Critical Care, and helped establish critical care departments at his previous institutions.

Dr. Al Khoury specializes in caring for critically ill patients requiring mechanical ventilation—both surgical and medical cases. He has a particular focus on modern, evidence-based ventilation techniques and actively manages acutely unwell patients, with expertise in pain control and symptom management. He is certified in healthcare quality and serves on multiple medical committees including the JCI Steering Committee and Critical Care Committee.
