Dr. Benazir Ansari

Dr. Benazir Ansari is a Specialist Ophthalmologist at Medcare Medical Centre in Dubai, with 11 years of clinical experience. She completed her medical degree and postgraduate diploma in ophthalmology from JN Medical College at Aligarh Muslim University in India, followed by specialist training and a Diplomate of National Board qualification from Sankara Nethralaya in Chennai. She holds a fellowship in medical retina, ocular inflammation, uveitis and cataract surgery, and is a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Ansari is a trained phacoemulsification (keyhole cataract) surgeon with broad expertise across the front and back of the eye. She performs advanced cataract surgery including phacoemulsification, SICS and ECCE techniques, pterygium removal with graft, and manages complex retinal conditions including diabetic retinopathy, uveitis and glaucoma. She administers intra-vitreal injections and uses YAG laser treatment for retinal problems and glaucoma. Before relocating to Dubai, she worked as a consultant at several established eye hospitals across India including Max Vision Eye Care in Chennai, Kenia Eye Hospital and Asian Eye Hospital in Mumbai, and Rotary Eye Hospital in Kolkata.

Her particular areas of focus are medical retina, diabetic eye disease, anterior and posterior segment care, retinal laser treatment and uvea-related conditions. She has presented research at national and international conferences and received the Young Researchers Award at the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress in 2013.
