About Dr. Hazar Younes
Dr. Hazar Younes is an ophthalmic surgeon with 14 years of clinical experience, specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. She earned her medical degree from Latakia Medical University in Syria and completed a Master's degree in Ophthalmology in 2011. In 2009, she passed the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) examination, an internationally recognized qualification.
Throughout her career, Dr. Hazar has performed thousands of eye surgeries including cataract removal, laser vision correction, strabismus (eye muscle) repair, and oculoplastic procedures. Since 2012, she has developed a strong focus on pediatric ophthalmology, serving as a consultant at a maternity and pediatric hospital in Latakia. She is currently pursuing a PhD in pediatric ophthalmology, with particular interest in how eye problems affect children with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and ADHD.
Dr. Hazar combines her broad surgical expertise with a growing specialization in children's eye health. She speaks Arabic, English, French, and Russian, and is a member of the Syrian Ophthalmology Society.
